Cold Pressed Oils

Cold pressed oil seeds are known as the gentlest method of producing vegetable oil. Anton Fries Maschinenbau GmbH has used this method in developing their vegetable oil press. The special feature of our vegetable oil press with its newly developed press cylinder is that the pressed material is conveyed forward loosely in the screw press. The oil is therefore pressed and separated out in the front section of the screw press within a section of approx. 30-40 mm. This short de-oiling zone ensures very low level of mixing between the oil and the husks. This novel development means that there is only a very small amount of solids, tannins and bitters present in the pressed oil. The unique, natural taste and the high quality of the oil with its valuable contents therefore remain unchanged.

The screw extrusion press is designed to produce cold-pressed vegetable oils, for instance: almond oil, apricot kernel oil, argan oil, beechnut oil, black cumin oil, black currant seed oil, brazil nut oil, camelina oil, cashew oil, coconut oil, colza oil, grape seed oil, hazelnut oil, hemp oil, jatropha oil, linseed oil, macadamia nut oil, mustard seed oil, peanut oil, pistachio oil, poppy seed oil,
pumpkin seed oil, safflower oil, sesame oil, soya oil, sunflower seed oil, walnut oil, etc.

Anton Fries’ vegetable oil press is unique in its ability to press the canola seed twice without having to warm up the seeds beforehand. This technique makes it possible to obtain a gain of approximately 34-38% oil, depending on the oil content of the seed.

Due to the machine’s double press technique, it guarantees a natural, high-quality vegetable oil without any added chemicals, extracting agents or solvents, while still maintaining all of its wholesome ingredients, such as vitamins, essential fatty acids, lecithin, enzymes, trace elements and flavors. Another advantage of this innovative development is the trace amounts of solids left in the pressed oil, making the processing easier, faster and cheaper.

Vegetable Oil Press P240R

Canola seed, sunflower seeds, argan, almonds, grape seeds and much more seeds you can press with oil presses of ANTON FRIES.

The cylindrical oil press can manufacture cold pressed vegetable oils, such as canola oil, sunflower oil, cameline oil, linseed oil, hazelnut oil, walnut oil, almond oil, etc. Due to its simple layout it is possible to quickly change the seeds being pressed, and is easy to clean when finished.

Materials (all produced by Anton Fries in their manufacturing plant):

  • Stainless Steel
    • Feeding mechanism
    • Frame
    • Heater
    • Funnel
  • Tool Steel
    • Screw conveyer
    • Press head
    • Press cylinder

The electric motor is supplied by the company SEW and is energy-efficient (Class EFF1). The engine speed can be regulated with a frequency inverter.

Output: 50,000 to 60,000 liters (13,200 gallons – 15,800 gallons) per year, or 12-30 kg/h (26-66 lb/h). These outputs are approximate and can change due to the seeds being pressed, the size of the press nozzle, and the machine settings.

The processed seed: Oil AND Cake

As a result of the pressing technique, a press cake will remain and is a valuable high-protein and additive-free feed.

The first press produces a versatile, high-quality and nutritional oil. This can be used as fuel for engines that run on vegetable oil. The second press produces oil that can be used to improve low-energy feeds.

The vegetable oil is purified by sedimentation and filtration and can be used as a Co2-neutral fuel for modified engines. A low-cost process exists where you can combine sedimentation devices with storage tanks and the filter candle to percolate the oil.

To achieve best results, we suggest using the sedimentation device with a chamber filter press.
